Home Federal was established as Home Building and Loan in April of 1920. Through the years, our name changed to Home Federal Savings and Loan Association, but our founding values remain the same. We continue to provide excellent personal service, sound local management and a firm commitment to our community.

Home Federal was organized to help cover the need for long-term mortgage financing in our community and to foster home ownership. Commercial banks in the area provided short-term financing only. Those in need of long-term financing had to go outside of the local area. Our founders envisioned a locally operated institution that provided investment and savings opportunities in addition to loans. Local representatives service our mortgage loans: Thus, our motto “People Helping People.”

While there are many more financial options and banks in our area today, Home Federal is still the only institution that is committed to providing local servicing throughout the term of your loan. Lenders often sell their loans along with servicing responsibilities. We, at Home Federal, service our loans locally. You can rest assured that you will receive prompt answers to all your questions.
